    • Master's degree Speech Language Pathology from the University of Florida

    • Master's degree in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), specializing in Theoretical Linguistics

    • Master's degree in Teaching with a focus on communication from Webster University

  • Work Experience:

    • Eight years as a clinical SLP working with underprivileged children & adolescents

    • 17 years of teaching experience in underserved communities

    • Participated in the Project Yucatán medical mission trips, collaborating with audiology and pharmacy students and professionals

    • Certified in the Hanen Program, a family coaching program for communication growth in households in the US as well as Latin America

Lesley Summers

Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist

As a nationally certified expert in the field of Bilingual Speech Language Pathology, Lesley provides interactive and effective therapy techniques, both in person and virtually.  These areas include:  top level evaluation skills, bilingual therapy, early intervention including Hanen training (parent coaching program), pediatric feeding and swallowing therapy, AAC including dedicated devices, using American Sign Language, treating phonological disorders, and working with families of patients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD.  With over seven years experience primarily in pediatrics, Lesley also brings her linguistics background plus a former educator of seventeen years.  As a winner of the ASHA Continuing Education award, Lesley is dedicated to incorporating the most effective scientific evidence-based therapy practices.  She also has experience providing educational training services for daycares and has presented at the Jacksonville Area Speech Pathology Association.
