There is little research about bilingual therapy in the field of speech language pathology. However, as a bilingual therapy provider, I see the importance of providing therapy in two lanuages for those who have stronger language skills in one language than the other.
Bilingual speech and language therapy are very dynamic, and it is a niche in our field, for sure. It is a great strength as a bilingual SLP finding out when a client has stronger language skills in Spanish, for example, and then capitalizing on it to provide the best outcome for facilitating language comprehension. This is a service that is provided by Luna Therapy Services!
